Don Bosco Tech Society (Hospet) celebrated International Women’s Day in anticipation of March 5, 2020, from showing our solidarity, acknowledging their success to respecting constant efforts towards equating position to the men. It had a huge number of participants, comprised of Mr. Chand Pasha (Child Protection Unit, Bellary) was the chief guest for the day. Fr. Anand (Director, Don Bosco Hospet), Fr. Siju (Centre Head, Don Bosco Tech, Hospet), Fr. Rahul (Principal, Don Bosco School, Hospet), Ms. Sunitha (Asst. Sub-Inspector, Hospet), Sr. Celine Rose (Superior, Vimal Nivas, Hospet), 300+ women alumni, the trainees and the staff of Don Bosco Tech (Hospet) were part of the program.  

The program, as per the plan, began with a rally from the City Council (Hospet) to Don Bosco Tech Society premises, covering about 500 meters on foot. The rest of the program continued in the auditorium of Don Bosco Tech (Hospet) post-rally. Here, the indoor program kick-started with a mesmerizing prayer song by local youths. Once the audience was seated quite in their respective places, Mr. Manjunath (Trainer, CE & ITES) delivered the welcome speech to the guests and the dignitaries, who, in turn, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp.

Fr. Siju reminded the gathering about the importance of keeping a Women's Day. He said, “It is a day to remember women’s untiring struggle towards financial independence, self-reliance.”

Mr. Chand Pasha addressed the gathering and said: “We (men) should treat women with respect and treat them in the best possible way.”  Adding color to the celebration Ms. Shivaleela (Alumni) underlined her journey towards success and how Don Bosco Tech skill training has helped her grow. She shared her experience, facing 300+ women flock, attended the event.

A memorable day was concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Lakshmi (Trainer-BPO).
